Bite

O pitiful dog to a nation by chain!
Such sharp fangs, yet the stake breaks the earth,
Only freed by your master, who'th too insane,
They should have put you down at birth.

But you claw and gnash at a futile goal,
Not set by you, your bone is gnawed!
Your futurity, your master doth control,
So sad and obsolete, your order is flawed.

You bark, gnaw, chew at my being and flesh,
Yet I will not strike, no stone I will throw,
I will resist, and tell you so, yet you will mesh
Your emotions, so soft, in a pot of snow.

Here I stand out in the cold,
And there you march, close, arms up ahead,
I claim no strength, I am not bold,
But simply for reason, I stand without dread.

You point your teeth and claws about,
One at me, with a spark and flash,
But times of anarchy will be your drought,
So down I fall, bite life's sash.

A dog you are and will forever be,
So dull those teeth and claws, your master I will be!
Poem also a part of my January Works, and one that I wrote after a lesson on social reform. Just happened to pop into my brain so I decided to write it down in a metaphorical way ;). Feedback, tips, advice, etc. are all accepted and I will use them to improve my future writing! Thanks for all/any feedback given!
